All Aboard the Hypetrain: Blockchains or Bust

Blockchains could be the start of a new information technology revolution. It is truly novel to be able to programmatically verify shared data without relying on some trusted third party. And now the initial concept conceived for Bitcoin is growing beyond cryptocurrencies into a world of smart contracts, dApps, and distributed ledgers. A glorious decentralized future is just 5-10 years away.

Probably. Maybe. We'll see. This talk will get past the hype and cover what the blockchain data structure actually is, what it's good for, and how you build stuff with it. After going over the basics, we'll cover how you can build and deploy your own blockchain apps today using Hyperledger Sawtooth, an open source blockchain platform.
